frankly i would do what ever works well for you, so that you can efficiently work your spells into macros.
my macros while cool could cause you more work then your ready for without the proper support.

Hey guys, my token is pretty much ready for the game on Monday save for macros. I can roll things like Flurry of Blows, and calculate Ki Pool Points myself (like I did with Narl's barbarian rage), but macros simplify things. Talos, if possible, could I borrow your Monk character's macros before our game starts?

Hello fellas, especially billy, sent you a message on obsidian portal y-day, just lettin you know im gettin settled at my new place and im gettin my internet in tomorrow, things worked outa lot better and faster for me than i thought they would, so if you would let me, id be able to come back in the game. Anyhow, ill explain everythin in more details when im not on my phone
