An Orphan child Born to plain elf woman and a gruff unloving soldier from the capital city of Caliphas he was not looked on kindly since his mother died shortly after hid 5th birthday as she had never recovered from child birth fully and his father had left them after learning of the pregnancy .
living the small village he grew up in left no illusions to his standing and that was that he was lower then the worms, most people ignored Him leaving him to learn the skills needed to fend for him self. Until a pair of strange elf man named Marty and June rolled in to town and set up a small curio shop, and while not bold enough to adopt the boy out right rouse the anger of the villagers they took care of him out of sight teaching him the magic of there profession to sing, dance, play the guitar, to capture the attention of the masses and even hid his nature making him seem ether more human or elf as needed and how to carve little wooden trinkets called scrimshaw to sell for what little gold he could get.
one night at the tender age of 13 June found him and gave him some good boots and a guitar and told him true, the town had decided the elves had lived here to long and where coming to run them out or run them throw and that he should find his own path so as the his family left him again one way from town drawing the attention of the town Burt snuck out the back and on to the open roads.
10 years later give or take a few he traveled all about selling little holy symbol of the goddess Desna and wooing any farmers daughters on the way... one such encounter he was caught before the deed could be done and he had to leap from the barn loft onto some hay and run down the road for all he was worth.
Along the road he dress on the move as best he can when he stumbled on a group of highwaymen attacking some professor and his guards, being some what of a noble man ( at least in his own head) and very much reckless he joined the fray singing and slashing for all he was worth and the heroes won the day. Professor Petros Lorrimor, turned out to be a really good man to Burt and promised to repay the unlikely aid and to start off with called the young man in to his service as a guide and assistant.
